Melissa George to Play Lesbian Intern

Australian ex-pat Melissa George has signed on to play a lesbian intern in the upcoming sixth season of hit U.S. medical drama, Grey’s Anatomy.

The 32-year-old, who’s had a number of television guest appearances in the States of late, has snagged herself her very first “regular spot” on a  U.S. sitcom since moving  there in the late 90’s.

According to a source, George’s spot on the show could be the ticket she needs to make the big time in tinseltown.

Her character, a “budding medico”, will fall for one of Grey’s established female leads. Rumour has it that her lesbian partner will be either Callie (played by Sara Ramirez) or Erica (Brooke Smith).

Scarlett Johansson & Ryan Reynolds Married

Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds have married, the actress’ rep has confirmed today.

The surprise nuptials took place on Saturday night at a “remote wilderness resort” outside Vancouver, Canada. Those in attendance included Johansson’s mother, Melanie Sloan, and her brother, Adrian Johansson.

The ‘Other Boleyn Girl’ star and Reynolds announced their engagement on May 5 this year, but had kept their wedding plans private.

Heather Locklear Arrested

Heather Locklear has been arrested in California on suspicion of DUI.

TMZ.com is reporting that Ms. Locklear was pulled over while driving in the Santa Barbara area, and was taken into custody by police when they believed the actress was driving under the influence of drugs.

The former Melrose Place star was released without bail. Police have revealed that alcohol was not involved in the incident.

Britney’s New Single A Dud

Britney Spears has hit another snag in her comeback to the top of the pop world, releasing what is possibly one of the most annoying songs of all time as her first single from her upcoming album, Circus.

Womanizer is an electro-pop track with a chorus that repeats the title word over and over again - nine times in total - in a frustrating monotone that makes one want to smash their head against a brick wall.

If you’re game, Spears’ new single is available for download above. Any injuries associated with the listening of the track, however, are the sole responsibility of the individual in question.

West Escapes Felony Charge

Kanye West has escaped a felony charge in his incident with the paparazzi at LAX, after Los Angeles prosecutors decided not to file charges in the vandalism case.

At this point in time, the prosecutors are “undecided” as to whether or not they will push forward with misdemeanor charges, but even if they do, West’s high-profile celebrity status should help pull him out of the shit.

West was arrested on September 11 for smashing a photographer’s still camera after the paparazzo attempted to take his picture at the airport. His attack was caught on camera by another paparazzo, and released to the internet shortly after the incident took place.

Sasha Baron-Cohen Gatecrashes Milan Catwalk

Borat creator Sasha Baron-Cohen has wreaked havoc at this year’s Milan Fashion Show, gatecrashing the catwalk during designer Agatha Ruiz de la Prada’s show.

The comedian was apparently in character as Bruno - his gay, fashionista alter-ego - when he took to the stage, but was quickly ushered off by security and taken to the local police station, where he was released an hour later.

Sources say designer Ruiz was very upset and close to tears after Cohen’s hijacking, fearing he’d ruined her show. Most people believe the actor did her a favour, though. Her show has received the most publicity out of the entire fashion contingent.

Not bad for a 30-second or so interruption…

What happened to Christina Aguilera? Didn’t she used to be hot?!?

Well, regardless of what we all think, the Dirrty singer believes that she’s “sexier” than she’s ever been.
