Britney Spears: “My Rehab Was Bogus”

After serving her mother with legal documents and severing all ties with former manager Larry Rudolph, Britney Spears has announced to the media that she feels betrayed by everyone close to her, and that her stay in the Promises rehab facility was all a lie.

Britney explains that she was forced into the rehab centre by her mother Lynn Spears, ex-hubby Kevin Federline, and then-manager Rudolph. She claimes she’s never had a drug or alcohol problem, and that rumours of the fact were fabricated by the evil people behind Promises, and her horrible, uncaring loved ones.

While Spears acknowledges she was struggling with emotional problems after the birth of her second child, she couldn’t withstand the pressure from her mother, husband and manager, and caved in to their desires to see her in rehab last February 20.

Apparently, the professionals believed that Brits was suffering from “post-partum depression, made worse because she stopped taking Prozac.” Also, her weak emotion state was blamed on the messy divorce with Federline, and intense media scrutiny.

But drug and alcohol problems sound so much better, right?

The sob story continues, with Brit’s assistant, Allie Sims, called Promises to get copies of the report showing she tested dirty for drugs and/or alcohol when she checked in. After several days of waiting (which is apparently not on if you’re a celeb), Brits finally got an answer: two reports that both showed no drug or alcohol use.

While that might sound boring and ho-hum, the fact that the first report was dated March 7 is not. There was no dirty test on file for Britney because Promises didn’t test her until two weeks after she checked in, further enraging Spears over her false imprisonment in the rehab centre, because, as we all know, how can you possibly treat someone without a diagnosis first?

Of course, no one involved in the messy rehab intervention was available for comment on these claims.

Britney Backs Out of Lauper Show

Britney Spears was due to perform for one night only during Cyndi Lauper’s True Colours tour at the Los Angeles Greek Theatre this weekend, but has apparently pulled out at the last minute for fear of embarrassing herself in front of the singing legend.

A source told Page Six: “There’s no way. Britney said she would only dance or lip-sync – and to be on stage with Cyndi, you have to actually perform. It’s not happening now.”

Sounds like Brit Brit’s too lazy for a comeback of any kind, and if she does manage to make it back in the singing spotlight, you can be sure she’ll be lip-syncing.

Jesse Metcalfe Wants to Sing

After a few mediocre attempts at acting and a stint in rehab, former Desperate Housewives star Jesse Metcalfe has turned his sights to the world of pop music, announcing to People that he’d like to sing.

“I’m trying to do music, actually,” he said, while attending the MAC Viva Glam party in London on Wednesday.

“I’ve just started writing and trying to develop my sound a little bit, but it will be as a solo artist,” he added. “I sing and play guitar.”

Wow.. he can sing and play guitar? He’s multi-skilled, someone break out the champagne!!

Britney Serves Mother With Legal Letter

Troubled pop star Britney Spears has taken her feud with mother Lynn Spears to a new level, handing her mother a legal letter this morning.

What was first believed to be a restraining order against the star mother has actually turned out to be a warning regarding Spears’ two young children. In the letter, Britney asks her mother to stay away from her boys if she’s taking any medication that would “impair” her ability to be around them.

Of course, mother Spears is far from happy with this latest little development in her daughter’s downward spiral, and who could blame her! The girl’s nuts! She’s more harm to her kids with all her drinking and drug problems, not to mention her mental state!

I’m just waiting and hoping for another intervention…

Lindsay Lohan Was Drunk & Drugged During Crash

Lindsay Lohan is in big, big trouble!

The Mean Girls star was allegedly drunk and had cocaine in her system during her car crash in Beverly Hills at the end of last month. Leaked toxicology reports indicated that Lohan had “nearly twice the legal limit” of alcohol and traces of cocaine in her bloodstream when she crashed her Merc convertible into a curb on Sunset Blvd in the early hours of the morning on May 26th.

After the accident, LiLo was taken to a nearby hospital, where she was held and taken into police custody under suspicion of DUI. Later that same day, the police searching her smashed up vehicle found a “usable amount” of cocaine hidden away.

According to sources close to the case, the Beverly Hills Police Dept. are expected to present their findings to the Los Angeles D.A. in the next few days.

I hope LiLo looks good in orange, because from the sounds of it, she’s going to be spending a lot of time in the colour pretty soon. Maybe she could start a “Celebs Who Do Time” support group with Paris Hilton?

Beyonce Copies Our Kylie

At Tuesday night’s BET Awards, singer Beyonce Knowles channelled the robotic-style of Aussie performer Kylie Minogue.
Beyonce’s flashy dance routine and futuristic metallic costume for her song, “Get Me Bodied” was so similiar to Minogue’s 2002 performance of “Come Into My World” that critics are blasting the young celeb and accusing her of “stealing” the concept for Kylie.

Knowles is currently being sued by soul star Des’ree for covering one of the singer’s songs for her B’Day album without getting copyright approval.

John Stamos Apologizes

After his shocking and out-of-character behaviour on Australian TV yesterday, John Stamos has released an apology of sorts, through his rep, Lewis Kay.

“John has been traveling extensively for the past few weeks in Greece, Egypt and Tokyo and had a difficult time adjusting to the time difference in Australia, which in turn led to many sleepless nights since his arrival.”

“He acknowledges that his behavior was completely out of character during these interviews and apologizes.”

John Stamos Sent Home After Disasterous Aussie Tour

ER star John Stamos has been sent back to the U.S. yesterday after a disasterous Australian promotional tour, which saw the actor spin out with two angry tirades in as many days.

The former hubby of X-Men actress Rebecca Romjin admitted on live television that he could have killed his career in coming to Oz and abusing our media personalities, something which his representatives are saying was caused by lack of sleep and jet lag.

Channel 9 was forced to cut short his interview on Kerri-Ann Kennerley’s morning show yesterday, after Stamos angrily attacked the presentor for asking about his “constant drunken” appearances of late.

“It was a bit like he’d perhaps come from a hotel mini-bar in true Hollywood style,” Kennerley said of the actor.

Stamos completely flipped out when Kennerley asked about his slurred interview with another Aussie media figure, insulting her outfit and “gyrating around with one of the studio props.”

He then likened himself to Elvis and Princess Diana and said: “Who else has died? My career after coming to Australia.”

After the latest shocking outburst, Stamos was shipped back to the States on the first available plane, and all other interviews and appearances were promptly cancelled.

The official word from his people was that he “needed to rest.”

Even though Kennerley isn’t the most respected reporter on Aussie TV, I’m sure John’s pathetic tirades didn’t win him any fans.
