Crew Member Dies on Jumper Set
A crew member working on the Hayden Christensen movie, Jumper, has been killed on set after a freak accident.
David Ritchie, a 56-year-old set dresser, was working on the Toronto set when a large piece of set design composed of sand and earth came loose off an exterior wall, instantly crushing him.
A spokesperson for the film released a statement, professing “profound sadness” over the accident, and saying “our thoughts and prayers go out to David Ritchie’s family at this time.”
Hayden Christensen and his co-star, Samuel L. Jackson, were not on the set at the time of the accident, having re-located to shoot some scenes in Tokyo a few days earlier.

Brandy’s Being Sued
As if the threat of prison isn’t enough to have you tossing and turning at night…now Brandy has to worry about the fact that she’s being sued for US $50 million!!!
Yes, the parents of Awatif Aboudihaj, the woman who Brandy hit on the highway, are now taking the singer to court, seeking compensatory and punitive damages.
“Defendant Brandy Norwood was driving recklessly in the freeway when her car collided with Awatif Aboudihaj’s car,” their lawyer said.

Brandy to go to Prison??
I hope Brandy looks good in orange, because she could be wearing the colour for some time…
The CHP (California Highway Patrol) has finished its investigation into the December 30 collision involving the pop star, and have concluded that she should be charged for the accidental death of Awatef Aboudihaj.
Leland Tang, a spokesperson for CHP, has asked that Brandy “be charged with a misdemeanor count of vehicular manslaughter without gross negligence.”
If Brandy is convicted, she could be facing up to a year in county prison.
“We know that Brandy’s at fault for the chain reaction of the collision,” Tang said.
The L.A. City Attorney’s office is now reviewing the case.

SAG Awards Best Dressed

I think this is the best our Cate has ever looked at any awards ceremony!!!
The dress is fabulous, particularly because it looks like one of those dresses that would look plain and boring on a hanger…
Her hair, her make-up (and I so want that necklace!!!)…Cate is just a gorgeous woman, and this outfit proves it!!!
Staralicious give her a double thumbs up, and a gong for “Best Dressed” (pity she missed out to Jen Hudson…better luck next time, Cate!)

Something Fishy With Paris

As I originally suspected when this story first hit, it looks like Paris may be benefiting financially from the latest video release.
The Post Chronicle reports that a “credible source” claims Paris Hilton owns the leaked sex tapes, nude photos and info from the website Parisexposed.com.
The source has not revealed the extent to which Paris is involved in the site, but as of Saturday, January 27, Hilton is allegedly financially involved.
Some things to ponder which lends some credence to the claim.
Why have the Paris Exposed videos been edited? How come there are none of her friends in the videos. And who films themselves in the buff but doesn’t partake in any sexual activity?
The plot thickens. With Paris, you always have to look at hte lowest common denominator, which surprisingly is not her, but rather her love of publicity, money and doing anything that can combine the two.

Jesse James Fined For Pollution

When you are aspiring to be a celebrity, there are a couple of telling signs that you haven’t quite made it.
One of these signs is when you happen to be married to a celebrity and you are referred to in stories as the partner of such and such.
It must hurt even more when you have a huge ego, as does the person referred to here in this story from Starpulse.
Sandra Bullock’s husband and Monster Garage host and co-producer Jesse James has been fined $271,250 for violating California’s clean-air rules.
No this doesn’t have anything to do with his mouth.
The fine was imposed by the California Air Resources Board, which alleges 50 of James’ custom-built chopper bikes violated rules by not having state certified emissions equipment on their exhaust systems.
As a result the bikes sold between 1998 and 2005, were giving off hydrocarbons at up to 10 times the state limits, said Paul Jacobs, chief of the board’s Mobile Sources Enforcement branch.
James, who also hosts and co-produces Motorcycle Mania, was not available for comment.
Well hopefully now he will build some bikes that actually conform to the pollution rules. It’s not that hard mate, you can hide a lot of the emission gear without making your bikes look any more puss than they already are.
Actually, I haven’t even been bothered to look at his bikes, they may well be very nice..
